Former MLA from Kovur Assembly Constituency in SPSR Nellore district, Nallapareddy Prasanna Kumar Reddy, has received notice from Police department in a case over alleged objectionable, offensive and inappropriate remarks made against sitting MLA Vemireddy Prashanthi Reddy.

According to the Police, a case has been filed against the YSR Congress Party leader under Sections 74 (criminal force against a woman to outrage her modesty), 75 (unwelcome and explicit sexual overtures), 79 (insult the modesty of a woman), 296 (obscene acts), 352 (provocation) and 353 (2) (false information) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and other sections of the Information Technology Act.

The police officials have served notice on Mr. Prasanna Kumar at his residence on Monday night. The notice under Section 35 (3) Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, directs the ex-MLA to appear before Kovur Circle Inspector V. Sudhakara Reddy on July 25 (Friday) morning for the purpose of further investigation and examination.
