Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, who has been hospitalised at Chennai since Monday (June 21, 2025), discussed official matters with the Chief Secretary and also reviewed the ‘Ungaludan Stalin’ programme which he launched earlier this month.  

“On the basis of doctors’ advice that he would discharge official duties while in hospital, the Chief Minister discussed official matters with Chief Secretary N. Muruganandam today [July 22],” an official release from the Tamil Nadu government said.

During the discussion, he also enquired about the progress of the Ungaludan Stalin programme, the release said. As on July 22, over 5.74 lakh petitions have been received under the programme.

Mr. Stalin enquired as to how many of the petitions have been resolved so far by departments concerned. He also advised on organising camps as per the schedule and to ensure amenities for the general public visiting these camps.

Following giddiness during his morning walk, the 72-year-old Chief Minister was admitted to Apollo Hospitals on Greams Road in the city on Monday forenoon. A bulletin issued by the hospital on Monday evening said that he has been advised rest for three more days and was prescribed few other tests for evaluation.

“He is expected to continue discharging his duties in official capacity from the hospital during his stay,” the hospital had said.
