A newly paved road in Shenoy Nagar has been damaged due to a lack of coordination between the Greater Chennai Corporation and Metrowater.

Crescent Road in Shenoy Nagar was recently paved by the Corporation after remaining in poor condition for several years. The road is an important one as it links the area with the Pulla Avenue Road, and a large number of motorists use it to take New Avadi Road. Residents were pleased that the road had finally been resurfaced. However, within a month of the relaying, Metrowater workers dug up a portion of it to provide sewer and water connections, damaging the newly laid surface. Now, whenever it rains, the road gets damaged again.

This incident shows the lack of coordination between various agencies, including Metrowater and the Electricity Department. Residents have submitted complaints to local officials about the damage to the newly laid road, but it has yet to be repaired.

Unauthorised parking of vehicles in Ashok Nagar

The Chennai Girls Higher Secondary School, located on 11th Avenue in Ashok Nagar, often faces issues due to vehicles being parked along the roadside, particularly right in front of the school entrance. The unauthorised parking of several commercial vehicles causes significant inconvenience to students and parents, especially those arriving on two-wheelers to drop off their children.

During morning hours, the combination of student rush and illegal parking leads to heavy traffic congestion in the area.

We request the City Traffic Police to depute a traffic constable during morning hours to prevent unauthorised parking and ensure smooth movement of vehicles and pedestrian safety.
