Bhadradri Kothagudem District Collector Jitesh V. Patil and his wife Shraddha Patil opted for the government-run Community Health Centre (CHC) in Palvancha for the birth of their child.
Ms. Patil was admitted to the CHC around 8 a.m. on Wednesday and delivered a healthy baby boy weighing 3.2 kg through a caesarean section at around 10 a.m., according to Dr. Ravi Babu, District Coordinator for Health Services. Both mother and child are reported to be doing well.
What makes the delivery admirable is the couple’s decision to rely on the CHC despite the presence of a specialised Mother and Child Health (MCH) Centre in the district. “Their decision reflects the faith they have in the Telangana Vaidya Vidhana Parishad (TVVP) institutions,” said Dr. Ravi Babu.
Minister for Health C. Damodar Raja Narasimha took to X and congratulated them. He praised the Collector for leading by example in availing maternity services at a government facility and appreciated the dedication and service of the hospital staff.
