K. Josh Thangaiah assumed charge as the Superintendent of Police, Karur district, on Monday. Upon taking charge, Mr. Thangaiah said steps would be taken to install more surveillance cameras to curb crimes. More awareness programmes would be organised regarding child safety and cyber crimes. Immediate action would be taken on complaints pertaining to circulation of ganja and other narcotic substances and sand smuggling, he said.
