Telangana governor was requested to institute a judicial inquiry into allegations of snooping on Cabinet Ministers.

Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLC Dasoju Sravan has appealed to the Governor to institute judicial inquiry into the allegations of snooping on several Cabinet Ministers in Telangana and shied the State from abuse of power and unlawful surveillance.

Quoting a report, Mr. Sravan alleged that the Chief Minister’s office was spying on the Cabinet Ministers and monitoring their private conversations by making the CMO into a surveillance hub wherein the ministers were not being spared from the unconstitutional gaze. The snooping was also on on the political opponents, bureaucrats, journalists and other close confidants of the Chief Minister.

He said that there were credible reports of rampant phone tapping, tracking of ministers’ movements and eavesdropping on private communications – all conducted without any judicial or executive oversight. It isn’t just misuse of power but a dangerous betrayal of public trust and a direct assault on the Constitution, the BRS leader said.
