NCP (SP) MLA Rohit Pawar on Sunday (July 20, 2025) criticised the ruling NCP faction, saying it is unable to function without consulting the BJP, by posting a purported video of Maharashtra Minister Manikrao Kokate playing a game on his mobile phone in the state assembly.
Mr. Pawar made the remark in a post on X and shared a purported video of NCP leader and state Agriculture Minister Kokate playing a game on his mobile phone in the state legislative assembly.
“The ruling NCP faction is unable to function without consulting the BJP, which is why even as there are several issues related to agriculture pending and eight farmers committing suicide daily in the state, the Agriculture Minister, who has no work, appears to have time to play rummy,” the NCP (SP) legislator wrote in the post.
The NCP and Minister Kokate were not available for comment despite repeated attempts.
Meanwhile, Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Vijay Wadettiwar accused the Mahayuti government of being “deceitful” and “treacherous” towards farmers.
Talking to reporters, Mr. Wadettiwar said farmers in the state were dying and the agriculture minister was playing a game on his mobile phone.
“This deceitful and treacherous government is not concerned about farmers. I appeal to farmers to teach them a lesson,” he said.
