Vyasarpadi Police has arrested a history sheeter who allegedly stabbed a grocery shop owner.

Police said one Raja. 44 runs a grocery shop in Vyasarpadi. One and half years ago, history sheeter Akash alias Vaandu Akash demanded mamool from Raja after brandishing a knife at him.

Based on Raja’s complaint, police arrested Akash and remanded. Later he came out on bail. On July 16 while Raja was closing his shop, Akash came along with his juvenile accomplice, picked up quarrel for lodging a complaint earlier and stabbed Raja. On hearing cries of Raja, other residents rescued and rushed him to Government Stanley Hospital for treatment.

Police apprehended Akash and his associate and subjected them to judicial proceedings. Akaksh has been lodged in prison while the juvenile was sent to Government Observation Home for boys.
