A day after Deputy Superintendent of Police, Prohibition Enforcement Wing, Mayiladuthurai, M. Sundaresan caused a sensation by going to his office on foot, which went viral on social media platform, and accusing top Intelligence and Law and Order officials of harassing him, an inquiry has been launched by the department into his actions.

The inquiry is being conducted by a senior police officer in the rank of a DIG, police sources said.

The DSP created a sensation by alleging that he was being harassed by officials who were acting under instructions from two top police officers from Intelligence and Law and Order. He also alleged that his vehicle was taken away on the pretext that it was required for escort purposes.

Mayiladuthurai SP G. Stalin stoutly denied the DSP’s allegations, terming them “wrong information”.
