Training for nearly 80,000 high school and higher secondary teachers in acting as primary counsellors to identify students’ issues such as mental health problems or substance abuse early and address these will begin in August.

General Education Secretary K. Vasuki said at a press conference on Wednesday that the module for the training, being organised on the directions of the Chief Minister, was almost ready. The training would be completed in the next six or seven months.
