The Kankanady Town police have arrested the husband of a woman and Chandra Naika, a police constable attached to Kavoor police station, on the charge of sexually assaulting the woman.

In a complaint to the police, the victim said her husband allowed other men to sexually assault her for money. The husband had taken videos and photographs of the instances of sexual assault and forced her to comply by threatening to release the videos and the photographs on social media.

When the victim approached Naika and complained about her husband, Naika came to her house and erased the videos and the photos of the sexual assault from the mobile phone of the husband. Later, Naika sexually assaulted her without her consent, she said in her complaint.

To protect the identity of the victim, her name and that of her husband have not been mentioned, the police said in a press release.
