Two men were killed as an autorickshaw they were travelling in collided with a Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus on National Highway 966 at Thachampara in the district on Tuesday night.

The deceased have been identified as Azeez, 52, and Ayyappankutty, 60, both from Thrikkalur, near Thachampara, in the district. Azeez was driving the autorickshaw.

The KSRTC bus was heading towards Mannarkkad from Palakkad while the autorickshaw was going towards Palakkad from Chirakkalpadi. The victims were crushed in the badly mangled autorickshaw. The bodies were shifted to Government Taluk Hospital, Mannarkkad.
