The consecration of Srinivasa Perumal Temple at Tiruvannamalai near here attracted a large number of devotees on Monday.

After the last consecration of the temple held in 1989, renovation works were carried out, and the present consecration was being held after a gap of 36 years, said Executive Officer of Andal Temple S. Sakkaraiammal.

Srinivasa Perumal Temple, a temple built on a hillock, is a sub-temple of the Andal Temple. A new annadhanam hall had been constructed at a cost of ₹55 lakh, she said.

The consecration of the temple, popularly called as Thentirupathi, was held between 5.45 a.m. and 6.25 a.m.

Drones were used to sprinkle the holy water on the devotees. Srivilliputtur MLA E.M. Manraj, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Andal Temple P.R. Venketrama Raja, and major donors of Srinivasa Perumal Temple, including S. Aravind and K.T. Venkatesan, were present.
