Vizianagaram Municipal Corporation has launched a fever survey in all 50 divisions of the Fort City in the wake of reports of fevers in the current rainy season. The medical and health teams of the VMC have been collecting data via door-to-door survey, as ordered by the VMC Commissioner P. Nallanayya.
In a press release, the Commissioner said: “The survey will enable the medical and health teams to conduct special medical camps, particularly in the slums, to prevent the spread of viral fevers.”
He directed all hospitals to provide data of fever cases to assess the situation and take necessary steps to control it. He also directed the sanitation wing to prioritise fogging, removal of garbage, and weeding on the outskirts.
He said that adequate medicines have been stocked in the hospitals which are under the supervision of the Corporation.
