A 53-year-old Central government security staff was killed after he fell off a moving express train at the Beach railway station in Chennai on Sunday (July 7, 2025) evening.

A senior official of the GRP said the deceased K. Paddala Polaiah was a native of Nellore in Andhra Pradesh, and worked as a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) head constable at Arakkonam railway station.

On Sunday, he was travelling from his hometown via the Thirukkural express train proceeding toward Egmore. As the train reached the Beach railway station, Paddala Polaiah tried to get down from the train to catch an Arakkonam-bound suburban train. However, he lost his footing and fell off the train, resulting in multiple fractures in both legs. The railway staff rushed him to Government Stanley Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The Egmore Government Railway Police have registered a case.
