Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Thursday voiced his dissatisfaction over the leak of information from the Governor’s office to the media.
Speaking at a regional review meeting held in Kottayam, Mr. Vijayan referred to media reports suggesting that Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar had expressed his displeasure to the new State Police Chief Ravada A. Chandrasekhar regarding the issues pertaining to the appointment of security staff. He implied that the leak must have originated from the Governor’s office.
“The Governor had requested additional police personnel and we have no objection to that. But there is a proper procedure that must be followed, regardless of a person’s position,” the Chief Minister said.
“Instead of directly approaching the State Police Chief, such requests should be routed through the State government. We merely pointed this out and asked that due process be followed,” he added.
