DIG (Kurnool Range) Koya Praveen and Superintendent of Police V. Vidyasagar Naidu looking at the material seized from the two terror suspects, at Rayachoti in Annamayya district on Thursday.

The Annamayya district police on Thursday confirmed the arrest of two terror suspects, who had allegedly been residing at Rayachoti for over three decades with fake identities.

The arrests were effected following the warrants issued by the Tamil Nadu Police in connection with the multiple bomb blasts since the 1990s.

Addressing the media here, Deputy Inspector-General (Kurnool Range) Koya Praveen and Superintendent of Police V. Vidyasagar Naidu said the accused, Abu Bakr Siddiq, alias Amanullah, and Mohammad Ali, alias Mansoor, had connections with the banned outfit, Al Ummah, and actively participated in the terror attacks across Tamil Nadu.

Following credible Intelligence outputs, special parties had been formed to search for the accused, which, eventually, led to their capture on June 30 at their rented portions at Kothapalli and Mahboob Basha Street in Rayachoti division.

The police had also seized a large quantum of explosive material, terrorist literature, and other incriminating documents from the spot, the officials said.

The seizure included ammonium nitrate mixed with fuel oil, PETN-filled boxes, suspected IEDs, potassium-based chemicals, gunpowder, switches meant for igniting the explosions, timers, hacking software, maps, and digital storage devices.

The police officials said the accused had reportedly settled in Rayachoti under fake identities, entered into marriages with local women, and ran small-time businesses to evade police surveillance.

Wives of accused remanded

Their wives, identified as Saira Banu and Sheikh Shameem, allegedly tried to obstruct the police searches and assault women police personnel on duty. The two women were also sent to judicial remand.

The police registered two FIRs (Cr.No. 363/2025 and 364/2025) under various sections of the UAPA, Explosive Substances Act, Arms Act, and the BNS.
