Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh launched a scathing attack on the Congress and Rashtriya Janata Dal in Patna on Wednesday (July 2, 2025), alleging the parties only sought to remain in power by any means.
He was in Patna to attend the Bihar BJP State Working Committee meeting organised at Gyan Bhawan ahead of the Bihar Assembly election. Resolutions were passed in the presence of senior leaders at the meeting.

While addressing party leaders, he not only targeted the Opposition parties but also encouraged BJP workers, saying they belonged to the world’s largest political party.
Attacking the Opposition, he alleged that the RJD and Congress will “fuel the politics of division”.
“When the Opposition talks about the politics of hatred, we have to answer it with the politics of service. When they talk about pushing Bihar behind, we will show the road map to a bright future. When they engage in the politics of division, we have to talk about connecting people. When they distract the people of Bihar from the real issues, we should talk about educating Bihar,” Mr. Singh said.
He also referred to the previous RJD governments as “Jungle Raj” and said the BJP was determined to not only retain power, but retaliate for the historical injustice that Bihar suffered for decades.
Mr. Singh said that under the rule of the BJP and the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Bihar has made unprecedented progress and the old image of jungle raj has been broken.

Mr. Singh exuded confidence that the National Democratic Alliance would again form the government with two-thirds majority in the election due in October-November. He asserted that the aim of the BJP is to give a respectable life to every Indian citizen and draft policies that lead to the development of every section of the society.
“It is the duty of every worker to reach every house and spread the news about the schemes and achievements of the Modi government. We have to convince the people that if anyone can bring back the lost glory of Bihar, it is the BJP and NDA,” Mr. Singh said.
He further said, “Lalu Prasad ji marginalised both [former Chief Minister] Karpoori ji’s legacy and values while he was the Chief Minister. There was no memorial in his name and no promotion of any ideology. Modi ji not only reminded the new generation of Karpoori ji’s name again, but also made his lifestyle and principles the focus of 21st Century politics,” Mr. Singh said.
The former BJP national president added that the RJD did not value Babasaheb Ambedkar’s picture and his ideas while the BJP held the Babasaheb and his values in its heart.

BJP state president Dr. Dilip Jaiswal, who chaired the working committee meeting, said everyone got new direction and energy from the speech of Mr. Singh.
“We will go among the people and tell them about the development that has happened under the NDA government. Our politics has never been about power,” Mr. Jaiswal said.
In the concluding session, Bihar in-charge Vinod Tawde addressed the leaders. A political resolution was presented by Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, a censure proposal by Bihar Minister Janak Ram and a Vijay Sankalp resolution by Mr. Jaiswal.
During the programme, former Union Minister and BJP leader Ashwini Kumar Choubey did not get the chair on the dais and left the venue in anger.
