The Indian Railways, in a bid to enhance passenger convenience, has introduced a new ‘super app’ called RailOne on Tuesday (July 1. 2025) for passengers across the country. The app is designed to serve as a one-stop solution for all railway-related queries and services.

What will the app comprise

The new RailOne app, launched on Tuesday, will consolidate all passenger services into a single platform — including booking of IRCTC reserved, unreserved, and platform tickets, checking PNR status and train updates, viewing coach positions, accessing Rail Madad services, and providing travel feedback.

Earlier, the users had to rely on separate apps including IRCTC Rail Connect, Food on Track, NTES, among others but now, RailOne promises an all-in-one services under one roof.

RailOne App: Key features and usage

  • With the new RailOne app, the railway is consolidating services at one location and providing users with comprehensive Indian Railway functionalities.

  • The new RailOne app is accessible for download on both Android and PlayStore and iOS App Store platforms. You can download the app and login following the given instructions.

  • RailOne features a single-sign-on with login via mPIN or biometric.

  • It also supports existing RailConnect & UTS credentials for the users.

  • The application also includes R-Wallet (Railway e-wallet) functionality as well. Thus, The RailOne initiative aims to bring India’s massive rail network under a single digital roof.

Major changes in Indian Railways effective From July 1

  • Effective July 1, the Ministry has mandated the use of Aadhaar-verified IRCTC IDs for booking tatkal and emergency tickets. This move aims to prevent misuse of the system by IRCTC partner agents who frequently book tickets in bulk, often leaving genuine passengers unable to secure reservations.

  • Another significant update in railway services is the revision of the first reservation chart timing. Going forward, the chart will be prepared eight hours before the train’s scheduled departure, replacing the earlier practice of preparing it four hours in advance.

  • In addition, Indian Railways has announced a slight adjustment to its current train fares. As per the new structure, fares for non-AC Mail and Express trains will increase by ₹0.01 per kilometre, while AC class fares will see a hike of ₹0.02 per kilometre. However, this revision will not impact suburban fares, second-class tickets for journeys under 500 km, or monthly season tickets.
