
Response from people for the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar scheme is good and the number of applications is increasing day by day, says EPDCL CMD Prudhvi Tej Immadi
Andhra Pradesh Eastern Power Distribution Company Limited (APEPDCL) Chairman & Managing Director Prudhvi Tej Immadi has said that 15,000 roof top solar plants with a total installed capacity of 50 MW have been installed in 11 districts under the discom.
He said that another 5,000 solar plants will be installed in the next two months. Around 10,000 roof top solar plants have been installed between April 2024 and April 2025, while 5,000 plants have been installed in May and June this year.
He said that the response from people for the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar scheme is good and the number of applications is increasing day by day.
In Srikakulam district, solar power plants with a capacity of 505 kW have been set up for 1,650 consumers, Parvathipuram-Manyam (880 kW for 289 people), Vizianagaram (4,845 kW for 1,549 people), Visakhapatnam (7,511 kW for 2,056 people), Anakapalli (3,827 kW for 1,239 people), Alluri Seetharama Raju (30 kW for 9 people), Ambedkar Konaseema (3,022 kW for 943 people), Kakinada (5,815 kW for 1,676 people), East Godavari (5,818 kW for 1,716 people), West Godavari (5,898 kW for 1794 people), and Eluru (7,298 kW for 2,199 people). He said that these plants have been connected to the grid
