Former Wyra MLA Banoth Madan Lal died of a heart attack at a private hospital in Hyderabad on Tuesday (May 27, 2025) morning.

Madan Lal, who was 62, underwent treatment for cardiac ailment at a super specialty hospital in Telangana capital in the past few days, sources said. He was elected as Wyra MLA on the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) ticket in 2014.

He had quit the party and joined the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) the same year. He had unsuccessfully contested from the ST-reserved Wyra Assembly constituency in Khammam district in 2018 and 2023.

Condolences poured in from leaders across the political spectrum over the sudden death of Madan Lal. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, BRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao, and working president K.T. Rama Rao, were among those who expressed condolences over the passing of Madan Lal.
