Arpit Jain took charge as the Commissioner of Erode Corporation on Wednesday (June 25, 2025). He previously served as the Additional Collector (Development) and Project Director of the District Rural Development Agency, Erode district. The civic body had been without a Commissioner for the past four months. N. Manish, who served as Commissioner, was replaced by H.S. Srikanth during the Erode (East) Assembly by-election in January 2025. However, Srikanth’s tenure lasted less than a month. Since his transfer, the post of Commissioner had remained vacant from March onwards.
