A young man, who went missing from home in Gadwal of neighbouring Telangana State, was found dead near Pinnapuram under Panyam police station limits in Nandyal district. The deceased was married just over a month back, police said.

According to information reaching here, Tejeswar of Gunta Veedi in Gadwal town was a licensed surveyor. He went missing on June 17 and his family members lodged a complaint with the Gadwal police the next day. Investigating the missing case, the Gadwal police verified the CCTV videos and found that the deceased left in a car towards Kurnool district.

The Gadwal police said the vehicle crossed Nannur checkpost on the outskirts of Kurnool and returned to Kurnool. Even as the investigation was on, Gadwal police got information from Panyam police of Nandyal district about the finding of a body near Galeru Nagari canal near Pinnapuram on Saturday night.

‘Extramarital affair’

The family members said that Tejeswar was married on May 18. “When Tejeswar told us that he was in love with the girl from Kurnool, we enquired and found that she was having an affair with a bank manager and warned him not to marry her. My brother did not heed us and went ahead with the marriage,” a family member said.

They alleged that the bank manager sent the car to pick up Tejeswar on the pretext of conducting the survey of a land, took him to Pinnapuram and killed him. They also alleged that Tejeswar’s wife was also involved in the planning and execution of the killing.
