AIADMK district secretaries Sellur K. Raju, R.B. Udhayakumar and V.V. Rajan Chellappa gave separate petitions to the police demanding action against the DMK Information Technology wing president T.R.B. Raja for making a ‘derogatory’ post against the AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K.Palaniswami in the social media.

Mr. Raju and Mr. Chellappa submitted the petitions with the Madurai City Police, while Mr. Udhayakumar gave the petition to the Madurai rural district police.

“Any Minister should act impartially. However, the cartoon posted on our leader by the IT wing led by Mr. Raja was not acceptable and was highly disgusting. This had caused the ire not only among the AIADMK cadre but also the general public in the State,” Mr. Raju said. Condemning the IT wing, Mr. Raju said that no other political party had made such a derogatory post. He sought action against the DMK IT wing.

Handing over the petition to Madurai Superintendent of Police B.K. Arvind, Mr. Udhayakumar said that it was the Palaniswami government which had for the first time allocated funds for archaeological excavation in Keeladi.

He said that the DMK men had staged a protest on Keeladi issue without knowing the actual reason for it.

He sought apologies from the DMK IT wing and removal of the cartoon from the social media.
