With the Yellow Line of Namma Metro beginning operations on Monday, the Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) has announced the extension of its metro feeder bus services to stations along the new corridor.
Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy on Tuesday is scheduled to launch the new feeder routes at the Electronics City Phase 1, Wipro Gate Bus Stand (Wipro Gate-6), aimed at improving first and last-mile connectivity for metro passengers.
“To provide seamless connectivity for metro commuters, BMTC has already been operating 2,730 trips daily on 59 routes with 217 schedules from metro stations to various neighbourhoods across the city,” Mr. Reddy told The Hindu.
A BMTC official said the newly introduced services will particularly benefit commuters in Electronics City, Bommasandra, Hebbagodi, and Kodathi, connecting these major IT and residential hubs directly to Yellow Line stations. The feeders are expected to make metro travel more convenient for office-goers, students, and residents living farther from stations.
