A man was allegedly killed by his wife at their residence in Vattepally on Wednesday morning, allegedly due to harassment and alcohol abuse.

The victim was identified as Shaik Mohammed, 31. The incident came to light around 10.30 a.m. after which the Mailardevpally police rushed to the spot.

According to the police, Mohammed was allegedly harassing his wife Shaik Fareeda, 30, frequently demanding money while remaining unemployed and intoxicated. Tensions escalated on Tuesday night and Fareeda allegedly attacked him with a stone while he was asleep.

The body was shifted to Osmania General Hospital for postmortem examination.

A murder case was booked and further investigations are under way.
