Awareness rally and programme

The National Service Scheme of Sri Krishnasamy Arts and Science College, Mettamalai, Sattur, organised an anti-drug awareness rally on June 30 and health awareness programme on July 4. K. Raju, Chairman, and R. Muthukumar, Secretary presided. The rally was flagged off by Senthilkumar, Traffic Inspector, Sattur, and inaugurated by the principal R. Ushadevi. Many students, faculty members, and the public participated in it. The rally commenced at the Sattur Fire Station and concluded at the Sattur Town Police Station.

The Department of Computer Applications and Tech Zone of Sri Kaliswari College, Sivakasi, organised a two-day career guidance programme to provide students with skills for career growth in IT and cybersecurity.

On the first day, M. Vijay, IT Security and Audit Analyst, JoomDev, New Delhi, discussed on ‘Career Guidance – Exploring opportunities in Cyber security: A roadmap for aspiring professionals.’ K. Muthukamatchi from ZOHO, Tenkasi, spoke on “Transforming Aspirations into Achievements: A Career Journey in the IT Landscape.”

On the Second Day, J. Jeyaram, Designer and Executive, Artistic Art Forum Erode, spoke on ‘Empowering Futures: A Career Guidance and Interview Skills Development Programme’. Student A Harini welcomed. College principal P. K. Balamurugan, presided. R. Muthulakshmi, Vice-principal and Head of the Department of Computer Applications felicitated. T Nitish Kumar proposed a vote of thanks. Over 225 students participated.

The 1996-2000 Batch Alumni silver jubilee reunion was held at Kalasalingam University, Srivilliputhur. Chancellor K. Sridharan presided. Pro Chancellor S. Arivazhagi Sridharan and Registrar V. Vasudevan addressed the event.

University Alumni Association president R. Murugeswari welcomed. Around 150 engineering alumni from 14 countries visited the campus. Muthukumar, an alumnus, moderated the program. The Alumni presented two drinking water purification units to the chancellor. Alumni Murugan, Suruli, Sathish, Salomon, and Gopinath organised the reunion ceremony. Sriram Vijay spoke. Professors K.S. Thanalakshmi, S. Kailasam, and P. Balamurugan and others participated.

A Traditional food festival was held at A.K.D. Dharmaraja Women’s College. The event’s special guest, Saranya, addressed the benefits of millets.
