A man was sentenced to life sentence and a fine of ₹1.6 lakh imposed upon him for murdering his wife in Kadapa district.

Fortyone-year-old fruit vendor J. Mallikarjuna, from Thamballapalle in the erstwhile Chittoor district, married Thammisetti Gangadevi of Kadapa in 2012.

After the couple had two daughters, Mallikarjuna started suspecting the fidelity of his wife and on multiple times threatened to kill her and killed her on March 3, 2019.

Based on the case filed by Kadapa police, the prosecution argued the case when the case came up for hearing on Friday, based on which the Seventh Additional District Judge GS Ramesh Kumar pronounced the verdict.
