Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday flayed YSRCP president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy over the alleged hit-and-run case involving the latter’s vehicle, resulting in the death of a man named Singaiah in Palnadu district recently.
Addressing a public meeting at Tummisi village, near Kuppam, Mr. Naidu observed that Mr. Jagan was a man with no compassion.
“After Singiah came under his (Jagan’s) vehicle, he was dragged as if he was an animal. He was not even taken to the hospital. Singaiah died because he did not receive emergency medical care,” the Chief Minister said.
The Chief Minister alleged that the YSRCP leaders were desperately attempting to distort the truth by prompting the deceased’s wife to give false and misleading statements. “They forced her to say that the accident wasn’t serious, but Singaiah’s condition turned critical in the ambulance,” Mr. Naidu said, terming it a “heinous gimmick.”
The Chief Minister criticised Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy for politicising accidents and tragic incidents, recalling the ‘Kodi Kathi’ and ‘gulakarayi’ incidents.
Mr. Naidu said he had never stooped to such inhuman tactics for political gain. “I am doing politics for the sake of service and development, and never for conspiracy and violence,” Mr. Naidu asserted.
Mr. Naidu further said that during the YSRCP regime, the State had witnessed anarchy and chaos, which plunged the State into an abyss of backwardness and lawlessness. He said that after the coalition government took charge, he was making his best to undo the damage.
