A stray dog that sought shelter outside the Railway Protection Force (RPF) outpost located at the Moore market complex (MMC) railway station near Dr. MGR Central railway station is earning kudos for helping apprehend a thief on Tuesday night.
A senior official of the RPF said the stray dog named Tiger, has been helping RPF personnel by barking at footboard travellers on trains, forcing them to go inside.
On Tuesday night, a petty criminal, Raju, who was wanted for various chain snatching cases, was roaming the Dr. MGR Central station in a suspicious manner. When an RPF personnel tried to nab him, the accused tried to flee. But Tiger caught him by his trousers, thereby helping the railway police nab him.
The video of the stray dog helping RPF personnel catch the criminal has gone viral on social media.
