IIT-M Pravartak Technologies Foundation will provide free training on career counselling to 30,000 teachers and educators across the country. 

The teachers will be chosen from 10,000 schools for the career counselling certification training initiative. It is being offered online along with BodhBridge Education, a company run by IIT Madras alumni.

The training will enable teachers to offer one-to-one career counselling to their students. The Pravartak team will provide the teachers support and materials.

The last date to register for the next batch of training is July 2. The session will commence on July 4. Schools and teachers may register through https://bodhbridge.iitmpravartak.org.in/counselors.php

In the last six months, 4,215 teachers from 22 states and union territories have enrolled for the training and 976 teachers have completed their certification.

Balamurali Shankar, chief knowledge officer, of IIT M Pravartak Technologies Foundation said, “With teachers trained in career counselling, parents can feel confident that their children are receiving informed, personalised support at schools, empowering students to make smarter academic and career decisions early in life.”

The programme is open to school teachers, principals, college faculty, educators and counsellors. BodhBridge has been in the career guidance space for a decade now. In the last five years it has been working with IIT Madras on various projects involving career guidance for rural children. 

The teachers will receive comprehensive foundation-level training in career counselling and will have access to top 100 in-demand careers, self-assessment tools and career guidance frameworks. Teachers who wish to receive certificates may register for the certification exam by paying a fee. Certification is optional.
